Alto Vista Chapel

Alto Vista Chapel is a treasured landmark in Aruba, offering a unique blend of history, natural beauty, and spirituality. Its origins can be traced back to 1750, when it was built by a Spanish missionary.

Bushiribana

The Aruba Island Gold Mining Company built the Bushiribana smelter in 1825 to extract gold from the ore being mined in the nearby hills of Sero Plat. It operated for ten years. Today, its remains are a popular stopping-off point.

Balashi Gold Ruines

In 1899, the Aruba Gold Concessions Company built a gold smelter at Balashi, at the southern end of Frenchman’s Pass. In 1916, during the First World War, it closed due to a lack of raw materials and spare parts.

Casibari and ayo Rock formation

There are two mystical giants waiting for you to climb and explore: the Ayo and Casibari rock formations. These remarkable natural wonders enhance the landscape’s beauty and offer excellent vantage points for breathtaking views of the island.

California Lighthouse

Enjoy the best 360° views of the island from the famous California Lighthouse. You can now even climb to the top! The lighthouse is open daily from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Admission is $5, and no reservations are required.

Fort Zoutman

Have a unique opportunity to visit the oldest remaining building in Oranjestad, built in 1796 for coastline protection. Once inside Fort Zoutman, you’re bound to feel the history seeping through the walls while enjoying the historic collection of documents and developments from the past.

Natural Bridge

The Natural Bridge was formed over centuries by the pounding sea. It collapsed in September 2005 and was once one of the largest of its kind in the world. The bridge spanned more than 100 feet (30 meters) and stood 23 feet (7 meters) above sea level. Despite its collapse, the Natural Bridge remains a popular landmark, as visitors can still see the nearby Baby Bridge.

Hooiberg

Hooiberg is visited daily by tourists and locals who come to enjoy the beautiful view or get a good workout. You’ll often see athletes training on the Hooiberg’s 587 steps. Try to reach the top, and you’ll be rewarded with a stunning view of the island and the sea. On clear days, you can even see Venezuela to the south.
